About us
Not a website with a logo.
A real company. Real product. Real handlers.
Most other registries are run by people you can't find, at addresses that don't exist, with no track record. We're transparent about who we are because transparency is the whole point of what we sell.
Our mission
Help handlers spend less time being interrogated, and more time living.
The Equal Status Acts 2000-2018 protect you and your assistance dog from discrimination when accessing services. The law treats your dog as a reasonable accommodation under section 4, and there is no statutory register, permit, or piece of paper you are required to hold. Your dog's training and behaviour are the proof.
But the law and reality are different things. A retail manager in a hurry, a taxi driver with a no-pet policy, a café owner unsure of the rules, these aren't lawyers. They're tired people making fast decisions, and they default to "no" when something feels ambiguous.
We make a card that makes the situation feel less ambiguous. It doesn't grant you rights, the Equal Status Acts already protect you. It just helps the conversation move faster, so you can buy your groceries before the ice cream melts. Registration is not a guarantee of access, and a dog that is out of control or not toilet-trained can still be asked to leave.
Who we are
Five years in the UK. Now serving Ireland.
We're NS Design ID Cards, the team behind assistancedogcard.co.uk and assistancedogregistry.co.uk. We've been making assistance dog ID cards, vests, and accessories for handlers since 2020.
Our Amazon storefront, NS Design ID Cards, has been one of the top-rated assistance dog product sellers on Amazon Prime UK for years. Over 20,000 ID cards a year. Thousands of five-star reviews. Same-day dispatch. The kind of operational track record that takes years to build and ten seconds to verify.
assistancedogsireland.com is the same operation, adapted for Ireland. Same printing equipment. Same product quality. Same fulfilment discipline. We just changed the legal copy from the UK's Equality Act 2010 to the Equal Status Acts 2000-2018, and the disclaimers to reflect Irish realities.
We're not hiding that we're international, we're foregrounding it as proof. Most other registries can't show you 20,000 verified customer transactions. We can.
Why we built this differently
Most registries fail handlers in five ways.
We don't.
They bury the disclaimer. We put it in the hero.
Many registries hide "we're not affiliated with any Government body or charity" in tiny footer text, hoping you don't notice. The implied promise is "this card is official."
We say it in the first paragraph on every page. The card is a voluntary handler tool, useful, but not official, and not a guarantee of access. That honest framing is our biggest competitive advantage.
They sell access "guarantees". We refuse.
Some registries imply a card forces every business to admit your dog. That's simply false under Irish law, a dog out of control or not toilet-trained can still be asked to leave.
We sell ID cards and handler tools. That's it. We will never tell you a card overrides a venue's right to remove a dog that is behaving dangerously or unhygienically.
They have no real product. We ship 20,000 cards a year.
Many "registries" are a website and a card form. The card never arrives. The reviews are fake. The address is a mailbox.
Verifiable Amazon storefront. Real fulfilment. Real customer service team. That's a credibility check no other registry can pass.
They use intimidation language. We use plain English.
Words like "certified," "officially recognised," "required by law." All untrue. All designed to make you anxious.
Words like "voluntary," "convenience," "identification." All true. All designed to help you understand what you're actually buying.
They monetise fear. We sell a useful object.
"€1 to manufacture, €50 to sell", the business model of many registries is markup on anxiety.
Real PVC cards. Real lanyards. Real vests. Real shipping costs. Prices reflect actual product economics, €39/yr digital, €99 lifetime, €229 lifetime + kit.
What we believe
Six things we promise. In writing.
No false legal claims
We will never tell you a piece of paper grants access rights or legal status. Only your dog's training and behaviour matter, and registration is not a guarantee of access.
No access "guarantees"
We don't sell what we can't stand behind. A dog out of control or not toilet-trained can still be asked to leave, registered or not.
No annual renewal fees
Lifetime tiers are lifetime. Annual is optional, opt-in, and clearly priced.
No fake reviews
Our Amazon reviews are real and verifiable. No bot armies. No paid testimonials.
Transparent shipping
Ireland fulfilment within 5 business days. Tracking number to your email. Real customer service if it doesn't arrive.
Refund if dissatisfied
If your card never arrives or isn't what we promised, we refund. No 12-step gauntlet.
Who we serve
Built for handlers with invisible disabilities.
Most of our customers are real handlers, often with PTSD, anxiety, autism, fibromyalgia, depression, or other invisible conditions, who got tired of explaining their disability to every retail clerk in Ireland.
Veterans with PTSD
assistance dogs trained to interrupt panic episodes, ground during flashbacks, check rooms before entry
Autistic handlers
assistance dogs trained for deep pressure therapy, meltdown interruption, sensory regulation
Chronic illness handlers
assistance dogs trained to retrieve medication, alert for blood-sugar drops, brace against falls
Anxiety / panic disorder
assistance dogs trained to interrupt panic, alert to elevated heart rate, provide tactile grounding
Mobility limitations
assistance dogs trained to retrieve dropped items, open doors, bear weight, push buttons
Hearing impaired
assistance dogs trained to alert to alarms, doorbells, sirens, the caller's name
If your dog is trained to perform tasks related to your disability and is under control in public, the Equal Status Acts protect you from discrimination, whether or not you ever buy a card from us. We're a tool, not a gatekeeper, and not a guarantee of access.
